Civil/Structural Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Civil/Structural Engineer to design, develop, and oversee a wide range of construction projects within the built and natural environment. The role involves managing projects from concept through completion while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, develop, and manage small to large-scale construction projects, ensuring timely and sustainable delivery.
  • Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data, including maps, reports, tests, and drawings.
  • Perform technical and feasibility studies, creating blueprints that meet technical specifications.
  • Assess risks, materials, and costs to inform project decisions.
  • Provide creative solutions to emerging issues and deficiencies.
  • Oversee and mentor junior staff while coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Deliver completed structures and services for operational use.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare detailed status reports.
  • Manage budgets, procure materials, and ensure equipment availability.
  • Comply with permits, safety standards, and regulations while delivering technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with clients and construction professionals to evaluate design feasibility.
  • Prepare essential project documents such as BEME, BOQ, MTO, WBS, work program schedules, budgets, and other deliverables.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in civil consulting engineering.
  • Proficiency in engineering design and visualization tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, ProtaStructure, Orion, STAADPro, Robot, and Excel.
  • Strong project management and supervision skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, including client and consultant coordination.
  • Membership and licensing with recognized Nigerian engineering bodies (e.g., COREN, NSE).
